NORMA ATWOOD | VILLAGE MUSIC
“Music gives a Soul to the universe, Wings to the mind, Flight to the imagination & Life to everything.” - Plato
As a child many years ago, Norma Atwood’s love of music began standing beside the piano while her mother played and sang daily. At age 8, she began her voice, piano and music education at the New England Conservatory of Music in Boston that she continued into collage at Northeastern University where she graduated with a B.A. in Theatre Arts, Music and Biology.
While performing throughout the country, she pursued Graduate Voice at the University of Alabama, Music Education at Akron University in Ohio and Kindermusik at Eastern Michigan University. It has been a life long passion and continues today by teaching in her private studio at The Cultural Center of Cape Cod.
Village Music was created in Plymouth, Michigan and upon moving to Cape Cod, reopened in So. Yarmouth. Norma teaches private Voice and Piano lessons in her current studio at the Cultural Center of Cape Cod. She is also Performance Director of The Esprit Players in Osterville and Director of the Joyful Variations Chorus. Lessons are scheduled weekly Mondays through Fridays. Lessons are available for all ages and abilities! The first step into the studio is the hardest but once inside, the joy of music making has so many benefits. Music stimulates brain development and helps form math and social skills as well as builds confidence.
