Hyannis, MA – August 6th The Cultural Center of Cape Cod is pleased to announce the continued success of its Artists in Residence Program at the HyArts Programming Annex, 250 South Street, Hyannis, in collaboration with the Town of Barnstable and community stakeholders. As we bid farewell to our inaugural Arts Educator in Residence, Genna Clemen, we celebrate her remarkable contributions this summer and welcome Sally Vince as the incoming artist in residence for the fall.
Celebrating Genna Clemen's Residency
Genna Clemen has made a lasting impact on the HyArts Programming Annex through her inspiring public art project and engaging summer programming. Her project features an installation of a boulder and three stone obelisks, all adorned with original mosaics, adding vibrant beauty and artistic permanence to the campus. With raw materials donated by Stonewood and many community members, this public art project reflects Genna’s dedication to community art. This installation highlights the magical natural light on Cape Cod, magic that has served as inspiration to so many artists and residents.
Genna also facilitated various summer programs at HyArts Programming Annex with the guidance of Susan Overstreet, the Center’s Learning Coordinator. "Creating this public art installation has been a journey of collaboration and creativity," said Genna Clemen. “It represents a lasting symbol of community and inspiration for everyone who will visit the HyArts Annex." The dedication of this public art installation at the HyArts Programming Annex will take place Thursday, August 8th at 5pm and the public is welcome to attend.
