The Captain Ferris House, a beautifully restored, historic B&B at 308 Old Main Street in Bass River Village, and The Cultural Center of Cape Cod have joined forces to offer a three-day retreat to promote health care and wellness.

This collaboration combines the elegance, comfort, and hospitality of the Captain Ferris House with the diverse resources of the Cultural Center - just across the street - to offer an exciting lineup of activities and workshops that enable creative expression, calming experiences, and relaxation for the mind and body.

“We are thrilled to partner with our neighbors at The Cultural Center of Cape Cod to combine the best of our worlds to benefit overnight visitors as they seek to restore, relax and enjoy the Cape,” says Carol Watson, Owner/Innkeeper of the Captain Farris House.

“The Cultural Center of Cape Cod is looking forward to this collaboration with The Captain Farris House on this Spring Wellness Retreat, where comfort, relaxation and creativity will come together. It will be good for the mind, good for the body and good for our creative spirit!” said Diane Giardi, the Cultural Center’s Director of Learning.

The Retreat offers guidance and options to adopt self-care as a way of life.

Morning Motivations: Start the day with positivity

Morning wellness workshops like Yoga and meditation enable guests to unplug and set the stage for the rest of the day. Lees Yunits, a certified and experienced Yoga teacher specializing in Hatha and Yin Yoga, will lead Yoga each morning. Pete Cormier, Ph.D., founder of The Awareness Project, a nonprofit that promotes mindfulness through art, will lead a Mindful Meditation session.

Afternoon Relaxation: Enjoy physical, emotional, and mental pleasures

Saturday will include free time to allow guests to spend personal time relaxing (e.g., mani/pedi, massage, nature walk, or just relaxing) before enjoying a Stretching session with Dianne Voikos, RN Massage Therapist and Herbalist. After this session, guests will return to the Inn for a formal Afternoon Tea service.

Evening Expressions: Explore your creativity

The Retreat will begin on Friday evening with Creative Expressions Paint Night, led by Susan Overstreet, an accomplished artist based on Cape Cod. On Saturday, guests can choose a Dance & Move with Tapas session with Molly Demeulenaere, the Executive Director of the Cultural Center AND award-winning dancer, or Sip N’Savor Culinary Experience with Chef Joe Cizynski, the Center’s resident chef. The Retreat concludes on Sunday with a Prelude Lunch before a J.S. Bach Cello concert with Samuel DeCaprio, a C.V. Starr Doctoral Fellow at The Juilliard School.
